The Challenge
A merger of Flow Solutions, Inc. and Ryan Herco Products presented an urgent
need to expand and consolidate two existing wide area networks to support
converged voice and data services in 26 locations nationwide while enhancing
existing internet communications to provide independent redundancy and assist
the growing organization.
With a long-term proven track record of stellar quality and unrivaled support
for their existing voice and data services within 8 Western US locations,
newly named Ryan Herco Flow Solutions immediately looked to vCom Solutions
for assistance in designing and installing a strong, secure, scalable solution
to support both existing and future needs of the now 26 nationwide locations.
Primary requirements included Tier 1 uptime, redundancy within core facilities,
and a seamless site-by-site migration with no impact on existing functionality
on an aggressive installation timeline.
The Solution
Working closely with the RHFS Information Technology Group and Executive
Management Team to define expectations, vCom implemented a multi-level Wide
Area Network infrastructure to support a wide range of centralized services.
vCom replaced the existing Frame Relay and Private Line networks with a
single, cost-effective, and scalable MPLS-based architecture to support
branch communication and prioritization of real-time Voice over IP (VOIP)
traffic on a nationwide Tier 1 Carrier backbone.
Working together with the RHFS IT Department, vCom integrated robust internet-based
VPN redundancy within select locations to further support the growing high-volume
and fast-paced environment. Additionally, by selecting an independent Tier
1 provider for internet services RHFS was able to gain further redundancy
against catastrophic issues within the MPLS network.
Finally, Ryan Herco Flow Solutions added value to the project by leveraging
vCom Solutions’ extensive partnerships among numerous Tier 1 service providers
and other partner service vendors to complete the project without delay.
With the experienced project management team at vCom, unforeseen facility
issues and previously unplanned branch consolidations were merged into the
plan seamlessly without delay.
The Outcome

A complete migration with no interruption of services was completed in record
time allowing Ryan Herco Flow Solutions to implement an expansion of their
new ERP system and finalize the merger of their operations teams. With the
completion of the enhanced network infrastructure RHFS has quickly begun
to expand on existing VOIP technology to support the added locations more
quickly than expected while maintaining service at all levels.
