It’s that time of year again, and vCom participated in the annual East Bay Junior Achievement Financial Success Bowl-A-Thon held March 5th at Danville Bowl in Danville, CA. JA’s goal is to raise $35,000 in order to provide JA programs to 1300 students. The programs teach students financial literacy, helping empower students to own their economic success.
We had a strong showing this year, our second year participating in the Bowl-A-Thon. Courtney Cordoba, Anna Reynoso, Keshmi Prasad, Carina Hayek, Ashley Lee, Katey Jenkins, Jeff Hilin, Joel Hilin, Kathleen Souza, Nick Webb, Vanessa Smith, Aneel Tumber, Josh Kramer managed to bowl one and a half games before time was called and were forced to relinquish the lanes to the next group. Joe Condy and Paul Connaker stopped by to throw a few balls down the alley, resulting in Paul’s amalgamation of players getting the highest score for the first game. Everybody bowled well, especially Courtney who started off with a few strikes, and ended with a spectacular move that one really only sees in movies: the ball slipped off her hand and ended up going in the opposite direction of the alley. Nobody was injured, and neither was Carina’s ball.
vCom is proud to continue its tradition of supporting Junior Achievement. Gary Storm, CEO, sits on the board, and every year, vCom team members participate in JA Day at a local elementary school.
