vCom participated in its first Community Outreach Fundraiser of 2014 at the annual East Bay Junior Achievement Financial Success Bowl-A-Thon held last night, March 6th, at Danville Bowl in Danville, CA. Through team registrations and event raffles at this Bowl-A-Thon, Junior Achievement (JA) of Northern California tries to raise $25,000. The money goes towards teaching students financial literacy and about entrepreneurship.
11 members of the vCom team participated, all with varying levels of skill and confidence. Gary Storm, Joe Condy, Josie Carlin, Brandon Hampton, and Chris Gerstenfeld were, predictably, among the strongest bowlers. However, Courtney Cordoba, Anna Reynoso, Emilee Williams, and Keshmi Prasad surprised themselves with getting a few strikes despite their professed lack of bowling skills. JA also ran a raffle, and Carina Hayek took home 4 bottles of wine for her $20 investment. All in all, it was a very successful night for everybody, and as a company, we raised $750 for Junior Achievement.
vCom has a long history of supporting Junior Achievement: Gary Storm, CEO, sits on the board for Junior Achievement of Northern California; and every year, vCom team members participate in JA Day at a local elementary school. You can read about our last JA Day here.
