Letter from the COO
Sameer Hilal
It’s hard to believe we are gearing up to wrap up Q3 and get ready for the last quarter of 2024. Where did the time go??
The past three quarters have been bustling for the QuantumShift™ team as we continue to enhance our Buyers’ Club product with new solutions, advanced technologies, and improved service delivery for our customers.
I. On the PEOPLEfront, the addition of Rob Seemannto the QS team as VP & GM of Mobile in mid-March brought us a leader with extensive mobility experience. This has allowed us to focus the QuantumShift sales team, making doing business with QuantumShift as easy as hitting the EASY button!
II. On the PROVIDER front, there were many notable additions throughout the first part of the year:
MOBILE
- We introduced AT&T Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) for Business, a 5G-enabled service that provides customers with untethered bandwidth access. FWA offers an affordable alternative to cable or fiber-based broadband, serving as a primary solution for small/home offices or a backup for larger offices. It is also ideal for hard-to-reach locations where fiber or cable are inaccessible or require significant implementation costs.
- Speaking of 5G, we also added Private 5G from AT&T to the list of mobile products we manage on behalf of clients. Private 5G functions similarly to a public 5G network but allows the owner to provide restricted access and use licensed or unlicensed wireless spectrum. It is beneficial for facilities like manufacturing plants, campus environments, healthcare organizations, or business parks where specific capabilities such as coverage, low latency access, performance, privacy, and security are needed.
- We have also partnered with TRG, a global fulfillment partner, to enhance our mobile fulfillment services. This includes reverse logistics, where decommissioned phones are evaluated, prepared for redeployment, and stored for readiness.
NETWORK
- In Q2, we onboarded Verizon’s Internet Essentials dedicated Internet access, an affordable Basic DIA solution in Verizon’s footprint states (Northeast). Basic DIA is a good option for internet access because it offers guaranteed bandwidth over a fiber-based network at an affordable rate. Read more about Basic DIA in our article about different types of internet access available to Customers.
- Additionally, we have introduced Dynamic Defense from AT&T. This service, available with all Dedicated Internet Access circuits from AT&T, provides an integrated network security function that blocks known malicious IPs for a nominal fee. Customers can also upgrade to a more comprehensive security offering, which includes features such as a Next Gen firewall with application-based policy creation and control, for a reasonable monthly fee.
- On the topic of security, we have added Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Protection from several providers we manage on behalf of our customers, including AT&T, Lumen, GTT, and Spectrum. When customers subscribe to this optional protective add-on service (priced based on the level of protection and required bandwidth), carriers can identify and mitigate this traffic to prevent it from impacting their Internet users!
HARDWARE
- We added Poly who sets the standard for UCaaS hardware phones and conference appliances.
- CradlePoint was added for their deep expertise in mobile solutions like wireless backup and Wireless WAN.
- We partnered with Google to offer its Pixel flagship product portfolio, enabling customers who prefer the Google ecosystem of products easy access to the Pixel suite of products with competitive pricing and customized solutions.
- We renewed our partnership with Cisco to continue to offer IT infrastructure services, including the Cisco Meraki suite of products including SASE and SD-WAN.
CLOUD
- Finally, we added Equinix to the portfolio of service providers we manage on behalf of our customers. Equinix is one of the largest cloud and colocation providers in the world. Equinix’s global reach enables customers to access all the right partners and interconnect the foundational infrastructure that powers their success.
These are just some of the highlights of where we have spent our time these past few months. As we head into the last part of the year, our commitment to delivering the best possible solutions for our customers is renewed, and we are looking to finish the year strong. Thank you for choosing vCom as your IT Lifecycle Management partner, and QuantumShift by vCom as your IT management solution.
The New Internet Access
In today’s complex digital landscape, partnering with an expert who can assess, manage, and consolidate diverse internet service providers and technologies is crucial for achieving flexibility, reliability, and optimal business solutions.

The Clock is Ticking on Traditional POTS
Your organization may be at risk or facing higher operational costs due to reliance on outdated Analog (POTS) lines, which are being phased out as legacy copper lines are decommissioned, but QuantumShift offers alternate solutions to future-proof your applications and reduce costs.
