A few weeks ago we wrote about our upcoming Employee Summit that we held on February 26. It’s now a little over a week since we held our summit, and we’re still feeling the effects. It was a great success, with over 95% of our team able to attend in person, including three of our newest employees, one of whom hadn’t even started yet!
It was an exciting day as we presented our company’s successes from 2014 and shared our 2015 strategy and goals. We also took the opportunity to hold brainstorming sessions to come up with ideas for how we can continue to improve both the customer and employee experience. We’re compiling the results and look forward to implementing some of the ideas.
We capped off the summit with our annual Employee Awards Ceremony during which we recognized our employees with the top performers across the organization being invited to Club vCom, the annual retreat for high performing employees. This includes our sales team members who met their quotas, individuals recognized by customers and peers as vCom Ambassadors, Chairman’s Award winners, and individuals celebrating their 10-year anniversary.
Several new employees attended the event, including Beth Miller, who related her experience in her blog post, “How My New Employer Impressed Me on my First Week”:
“They shared lessons, shared strategy, talked about their success, about their areas they needed to work on, and welcomed feedback. They asked for input from me along with all employees on ways to improve and actually wrote them down. They were more than willing to listen. They talked about all the input from last year and what changes they put in place as a result of them.”
At vCom, we’re convinced that the foundation for customer satisfaction is employee satisfaction. Simon Sinek, author of “Start With Why,” sums it up best when he tweeted, It was a great day to give back to the employees, recognize our team and individual accomplishments, and kick off an exciting 2015 for vCom!
