vCom Makes Waves at ILTACON 2017
Bright and early on Monday, we attended the keynote speech by Pablos Holman, the world-renowned hacker, futurist, and inventor. He talked about how to make wild ideas more practical. Holman works on projects that assimilate new technologies, and his focus was on helping us to think differently about how we can solve problems in the legal space.
The sessions that followed throughout the week were both inspirational and educational, focusing on new technologies, presenting advice from firms with many opportunities to ask questions. From Office 365, to learning how to triage your inbox, to technologies of the future, there was plenty of opportunities to learn new and better ways to handle the key issues most firms face.
During Monday night’s “Galaxy” event, you could meet Darth Vader, Klingon warriors, and many other beloved characters from science fiction walking around, some literally larger than life on stilts. At vCom’s booth you could be photographed with Spock as well as members of the Star Trek medical team. We like to think that we’re helping legal firms cure their IT ailments. Tuesday’s keynote featured artificial intelligence (AI), and how you can use AI to your advantage in the legal domain. The founder of IBM Watson shed light on key misconceptions around artificial intelligence and cognitive computing. We snuck out to host a well-deserved customer appreciation luncheon Tuesday, with several of our loyal clients and hopefully some new ones. Lunch at Fleur by Hubert Keller in Mandalay Bay, was delicious and the services were exceptional. On Tuesday night, the vCom team gathered for dinner at Lupo by Wolfgang Puck to discuss the day’s events. It was a much-needed download.
The following day, vCom sponsored a cocktail party at Skyfall Lounge on the top of the Delano Hotel, and we invited our strategic UCaaS partner, Ring Central, to join us. This fashionable lounge had amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip.
By Thursday, the last day of the event, everything was starting to wind down. It was a good last day – there were many who stopped by our booth; the opportunities for partnerships were plenty. All in all, it was a great end to a great conference! Hope to see all of our old and new friends at next year’s growing ITLACon event.
