What Your OPEX Budget Really Needs
(and It’s Not Just More Money)
Thanks to SaaS, UCaaS, SD-WAN, and a slew of other cloud-based technologies, the speed, cost, and overhead of IT management is evolving at blinding speeds – so it makes sense to invest more in your OPEX budget rather than the physical infrastructure that comprises your CAPEX budget, right? Well, not so fast…
Do You Know Where All of Your SaaS Licenses Are?
With everything going Software as a Service, acquisition of licenses happens fast, and internally tracking them doesn’t always keep up. Tell us if this sounds familiar: a department requires a new cloud service to improve their product. You acquire licenses for each of its team members, but over time there is a change in their staff. Then they shift to a new SaaS platform – which you also acquire for them – while they slowly (and quietly) sunset the previous one.
SD-WAN is Great, Except for These Huge Problems
Ah, SD-WAN. You make life so much easier! You’re not proprietary, you’re cost efficient, and you’re extremely scalable – allowing my company to bounce between the providers that work best for us. Being able to choose providers means more flexibility (and who doesn’t love options!) – but wait a minute! Flexibility means decisions, and these decisions require expertise, skill, and accountability.
