vManager 13: You asked and we listened!

In the world of software, have you ever found yourself thinking of ways to make your user experience better? Whether you are shopping online or doing something as easy as scrolling through emails, haven’t you had those moments when you think: “Wouldn’t it be better if they did it this way?” or “Wouldn’t it be great if I could do this…?”

User input is the Holy Grail of feedback: unadulterated input that identifies previously unseen gaps or ways to improve usability or add functionality. At vCom, not only do we ask our vManager users for their suggestions, we take the ideas all the way to implementation.

The latest release of our platform, vManager 13, contains new tools and enhancements that started as suggestions from our users. As a matter of fact, most of the recent enhancements to the platform’s Shop/Buy functionality are a direct result of customer feedback collected during vManager Certification trainings. During those events, vCom’s Software Adoption Team engages attendees in navigational training, but also encourage brainstorming sessions. As a result of this open dialogue, the group was able to present ideas to the Software Development team and turn them into vManager enhancements.

Because vManager was designed to be used daily, UX is a priority. And no one has greater insight into usability than those who spend hours each day working in the software. As a result, the value our customers bring to the development process is immeasurable; their willingness to partner with vCom to identify fixes or make iterative suggestions has a direct result on the product and ultimately, on how they do their jobs.  Providing a platform that encourages collaboration is a win-win!

Here are a few of the changes that resulted from the collaborative efforts between vCom and our clients for vManager 13:

  • Move, Upgrade, Re-Term Requests – Users can place a move, upgrade, or re-term requests against an existing network asset from within the existing vManager inventory record—no matter the carrier!
  • Pending Price Requests – A more detailed view of network requests, making filtering and parsing price requests for multiple types of services much easier.
  • Managed & Unmanaged Assets Merged – All customer inventory, whether it is managed by vCom or the client, is visible in a single Inventory menu so that all assets can be seen in one view.
  • Reporting Enhancements – Performance updates were made to several powerful reports including Mobile Unbilled Usage, True Cost, and Zero Usage.

These customer-suggested enhancements (along with others)—a direct result of customer feedback—were designed with our users in mind. So, when the vCom account team asks for feedback—they mean it!  The voice of the client is heard loud and clear when their suggestions are embraced, and their ideas made real.
